To our Boston-area guests,
We want to clear up a little confusion about our liquor license and let you know what it means for your next visit.
We’re open and serving our full menu as usual.
Following a recent violation related to alcohol service, our liquor license will be temporarily suspended for two days only—November 29 and 30, 2026—at Barcelona Wine Bar in the South End.
That’s it. Outside of those two dates, it’s business as usual. Our South End restaurant remains open and our liquor license remains active, as do the licenses at our Brookline and Cambridge restaurants. We’ll continue serving the food, wine and hospitality you know and love.
During those two days, we’ll be spending some time with our South End neighbors in a different way, with special food and community-focused programming. We’ll share more about that soon.
Are the restaurants open?
Yes. Barcelona Wine Bar in Cambridge, Brookline and South End are all operating on their regular schedules, including November 29 and 30.
Has our liquor license been revoked?
No. The suspension is limited to two specific days at our South End restaurant.
Can we serve alcohol?
Yes. The only exception is November 29 and 30 at South End.
Will events at our other restaurants be affected?
Not at all. Special events and group bookings at Barcelona Wine Bar Brookline and Cambridge will continue as planned. Events at Barcelona Wine Bar South End will only be affected on November 29 and 30, 2026; if you had an event planned for either of those dates, our team will be happy to help find another date or accommodate you at one of our other Boston-area restaurants.
