Chef Alex fell in love with restaurants at an early age, working his way up from dishwasher to Executive Chef in kitchens across Cape Cod and Boston. Over the years, he built his career in acclaimed restaurants like Josephine, Frenchie, and Colette—developing a strong foundation in French, Italian, and European cuisine along the way.
Drawn to the immediacy of fresh, seasonal ingredients, Chef Alex is constantly exploring new ways to express bold, vibrant flavors. Since joining Barcelona in South End—first as a regular, now as Executive Chef—he has brought that same sense of curiosity to the menu, blending classic technique with Spanish staples like piquillo peppers and pulpo. The result is a menu that feels deeply rooted in the neighborhood, ever-evolving, and full of heart.
