Chef Felix Ortega comes from a family of cooks and cooking, who celebrated their togetherness through big family functions around the table. His mother was always at the center of these gatherings and her teachings and food philosophy have stuck fast with Chef Ortega. His cooking career has touched every corner of the kitchen, and every position. He stepped into his first Executive Chef role at Catelli Duo in New Jersey before making his way to Barcelona Wine Bar. His focus on a “kitchen and culture of learning” has translated into menus full of beautifully highlighted ingredients as well as a strong team who never stop pushing their culinary expressions forward. His talent and love of showcasing vegetables has left many a diner wondering “why did I think I wasn’t a fan of this vegetable?” — and that re-connecting guests with the fresh and local ingredients of Pennsylvania are one of his favorite recurring moments.
