Chef Thomas Laczynski’s culinary career spans over two decades. When he fell in love with the culinary world at just 14 years old, he began working his way through the illustrious kitchens in Charleston, South Carolina. He knew then that this was what he was meant to do. Following three-and-a-half-year service in the US Army, which included deployments in Germany and Iraq, Chef Thomas returned to the US to attend the Le Cordon Bleu in New England. After graduation, he worked in renowned restaurants across South Carolina and Texas. These restaurants included Peninsula Grill, Relais & Châteaux, and Hedges in Kiawah Island, SC, as well as Executive Chef positions at True Foods, Fig & Olive, and two Atlas Restaurant Group Properties. Now as Executive Chef at Barcelona in Houston, TX, his resulting menu is an amalgamation of his career, with a clear dedication to Spanish and coastal Mediterranean flavors, where each ingredient shines.
