Chef Thomas Laczynski brings more than 20 years of culinary experience to his role as Executive Chef of Barcelona in Houston, TX. His passion for cooking sparked at just 14 years old in Charleston, South Carolina, where he first stepped into the kitchen and discovered his calling.
After serving three and a half years in the U.S. Army with deployments in Germany and Iraq, Chef Thomas returned stateside to refine his craft at Le Cordon Bleu in New England. His career since has spanned both fine dining and leadership roles, including time at Peninsula Grill, Relais & Châteaux, and Hedges in Kiawah Island, SC, as well as Executive Chef positions at True Foods, Fig & Olive, and two Atlas Restaurant Group properties.
At Barcelona, Chef Thomas draws on his diverse background to create menus rooted in Spanish and coastal Mediterranean flavors. His approach is ingredient-driven, showcasing bold yet balanced dishes that celebrate seasonality, technique, and the communal spirit of dining.
